Sulfonylurea, an Update
نویسندگان
چکیده
Sulfonylureas (SUs) are widely prescribed in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Despite availability several newer agents, SUs still play an important role glucose-lowering therapy. However, over last decade, there is a degrowth older agents (SUs and thiazolidinediones) prescriptions with emergence such as dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors, sodium glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists. The modern clinical practice poses ongoing debate. With active marketing these drugs, concerns regarding hypoglycemia, secondary failure cardiovascular safety tend to be overstated, especially when considering SUs. Some evidence has suggested that (such gliclazide modified release glimepiride) have lower hypoglycemia rates decreased risk mortality from all-cause disease compared conventional patients Appropriate judgement coupled patient-centered approach crucial achieve best outcome Modern should also considered based on their safety, efficacy, low cost choosing anti-hyperglycemic agents. Neonatal Sepsis: An Update
Sepsis is the most common cause of neonatal mortality. As per National Neonatal-Perinatal Database (NNPD), 2002-2003, the incidence of neonatal sepsis in India was 30 per 1000 live births. Signs and symptoms of sepsis are nonspecific; therefore empirical antimicrobial therapy is promptly initiated after obtaining appropriate cultures. The early manifestations of neonatal sepsis are vague and il...

It is becoming increasingly recognized that in neurofibromatosis, there might be anomalous development of bone with or without any local anomaly of neuro-ectodermal basis. This review was conducted to highlight the different features of spinal disorders in this congenital disease. Methods and Materials: Di...
متن کاملSelenium compounds for fish health: An update
Oxidative stress has become an important subject for terrestrial and aquatic toxicology. The trace element selenium has been demonstrated in chemo-prevention and drug-resistance through reduction of oxidative stress. Selenium compounds could prevent damage to the unsaturated fatty acid of subcellular membranes by lipid peroxidation induced by free radicals in fish.
